Continental Divide Trail 2019
After I completed the Appalachian Trail in December 2018, I set my sights on the Continental Divide Trail. Spanning New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana, the CDT is a connected footpath that travels along the watershed of the continental United States. I had never been to these states let alone done any hiking or camping. But something about the CDT was undeniably intriguing as an experience I wanted to accomplish. For me, the AT was the seed to the CDT.
I first heard about the CDT during my AT thru-hike from hikers marveling at the prospect of walking through Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park, just to name a few. The idea festered in the back of my mind, and by the end of my AT thru-hike, I knew I was going to hike another long trail. This page is dedicated to all things Continental Divide Trail in hopes of inspiring your future CDT thru-hike or section hike.
